Trump admitted during a Thursday morning TV appearance that he "didn't get her so much."
Melania Trump turned 48 Thursday and all the first lady got from her billionaire husband was a card and flowers.
"I didn’t get her so much," the president admitted as he called in to "Fox & Friends" Thursday morning. "I got her a beautiful card. You know, I’m very busy to be running out looking for presents. I got her a beautiful card and some beautiful flowers."
The first lady’s birthday came just two days after she helped plan her first state dinner at the White House.
Trump came clean about the birthday gifts Thursday morning in a wild call to "Fox & Friends."
There was also a stunning moment as he voiced support for his embattled lawyer Michael Cohen.
“He represents me like with this crazy Stormy Daniels deal, he represented me," Trump said. "And from what I see, he did absolutely nothing wrong."
It was the first time he has uttered the name "Stormy Daniels" and her attorney, Michael Avenatti, was celebrating Thursday.
“I think it was exceptional for our case and disastrous for him,” Avenatti said at a press conference Thursday.
It came as no surprise that Trump let his guard down on his favorite show.
Inside Edition recently caught up with "Fox & Friends" co-host Ainsley Earhart, whose new memoir, "The Light Within Me," is out this week.
"We've known him a long time," she said. "He used to come on our show every Monday before he ran for president, and we had a relationship with him. We're pretty comfortable with him."
The president was in a better mood this afternoon as he goofed around with dozens of kids in the oval office on Take Your Kid to Work Day.
The bright-eyes youngsters are the children of the White House Press Corps — and Trump couldn't resist a jab at their parents.
"Look at how well behaved your parents are being," he said. "They aren't shouting!"
The kids also took over the briefing room and had a sweet message for the first lady as they wished her a happy birthday.
