Meghan Markle's impending due date made Harry's visit to the marathon a little tricky for royal planners.
Not even a duchess' impending due date can keep a duke from his royal duties.
Prince Harry made a special appearance at the London Marathon Sunday to cheer on the runners. He posed with medal winners at the finish line, flashing a smile and laughing with the athletes.
Noticeably absent was wife Meghan Markle, who is waiting to give birth any day now. And that made Harry's visit to the marathon a little tricky for royal planners.
"He had always planned to go but with the birth of his child due it was not announced in advance in case he was no longer able to attend. He was pleased he was able to attend,” a palace spokesperson told People.
The royal appearance comes days after an ambulance was spotted outside the couple's home, Frogmore Cottage, fueling rumors that the Duchess of Sussex had gone into labor. However, the rumors were quickly shot down and no announcement had come from the palace.
Harry has been treading lightly with his royal planning lately. On Thursday, he made a surprise appearance with sister-in-law Kate Middleton for an Anzac Day ceremony at Westminster Abbey. He was a last-minute addition to the royal company at the ceremony.
