A shopper went after the woman allegedly harassing two Spanish-speaking women.
Two women speaking Spanish in the aisle of a Colorado supermarket were harassed by a shopper who demanded they speak English, according to Kamira Trent, who then intervened in a confrontation captured on cellphone video.
"I'm calling the cops. You leave these women alone! Get out!" Trent told Linda Dwire.
“You come from a generation — ” Dwire started to answer.
Trent shot back, “No, I do not. I have respect. You do not harass people.”
Dwire retorted, “You will lose your country. You know what, you will lose this country.”
Trent then followed the woman down the aisle and called police. Dwire was later arrested and charged with two counts of bias-motivated harassment. She was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in court next month.
"I hear this lady telling one of them that they are in America," Trent told Inside Edition. "They need to speak English, they can't speak Spanish."
That's when Trent decided to step in, and she said she wasn't afraid to.
"It was the right thing to do. It's the way I was raised. When you see something like that happen, you don't just stay there and let it happen," she said.
