You've been handling your tomatoes wrong.
You could be doing more harm than good by putting certain foods in the refrigerator
Inside Edition spoke to lifestyle expert Barbara Majeski to get her take on where you're going wrong.
A lot of people think that putting tomatoes in the fridge can keep them fresh for longer, but in fact the opposite is true. Tomatoes will last longer at room temperature and will taste better, said Majeski. Other fruits to leave out? Lemons and limes.
And plenty believe coffee can be put in the fridge, but that's a mistake, according to Majeski. Coffee is a deodorizer that will take on the odors in the fridge.
As for what does go in the fridge — it's all about where you put it. Meat should go in the coldest section of the refrigerator, while butter and cheese should be stored on the door of the fridge.
