She later told doctors the baby had been stillborn.
A former Ohio high school cheerleader accused of killing her newborn baby last year had allegedly said she had no intention of becoming a mom.
Brooke Skylar Richardson allegedly murdered the newborn and burned the body before burying the fetus in her backyard.
On Tuesday in court, prosecutors alleged the teen, now 19, displayed “extreme” behavior at the doctor’s office when she was informed of her pregnancy last April, WLWT reported.
“Dr. Andrew specifically told the defendant, ‘If you have any feelings that you are going to hurt this baby, you need to let us know that immediately,'” assistant prosecutor Kirsten Brandt said.
The teen allegedly didn’t return to the doctor for an ultrasound or any prenatal care after receiving the news, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
“She does nothing to prepare for this baby coming into the world,” Brandt added.
Richardson’s lawyer, Charlie H. Rittgers, argued that the statement was a violation of the teen’s privacy rights.
“The prosecutor is fabricating,” Rittgers told the paper.
Richardson, then 18, reportedly gave birth to a baby in the bathroom of her parent’s home but she initially told doctors she had given birth to a stillborn and had buried it.
A doctor then contacted the Middletown Police Department and authorities found the baby in a “shallow grave" in the backyard.
Doctors determined the child was born alive. Richardson faces charges of aggravated murder, involuntary manslaughter, gross abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and child endangerment.
Richardson has pleaded not guilty. She is currently free on bond and under house arrest.
