Megan Mullen looks the young men in the eyes, offers a few words of encouragement and then kisses them on the cheek.
The wife of University of Florida football team’s head coach is known for kissing players on the team on game day.
Megan Mullen looks the young men square in the eyes, offers a few words of encouragement and then kisses them on the cheek. She also leaves little notes by their lockers
Yet, some are calling it "gross" and “disrespectful” and sports blogger Carron Phillips is accusing the coach's wife of "sexually harassing" the football team.
"If this was a man doing it this, would be on CNN, this would be on MSNBC, ABC News,” he told Inside Edition. “If we wouldn’t allow something to happen for one gender why would we let it happen to the other?”
The mother of one football star is coming to Mullen’s defense, tweeting: "Momma Mullen I am very happy you are there showing/giving my big boy the love that you're giving and showing, because I can't do it. I don't make it to all the games."
Sports reporter Jacquie Franchooli shot now-viral of Mullen at work. He told Inside Edition, “She is off to the side, she is not kissing every single player coming off the bus. Players go to her. She is off to the side, so, they have to choose to go to Meghan Mullen."
Mullen is not commenting on the uproar, but she had this to say about her game-day tradition: "They deserve a family that loves them more than anything in the world, and every day I want them to know how proud I am of them.”
