She said she could have had more.
How many bridesmaids is too many?
Casme Carter, who got married on a beach in Destin, Florida, had 34 bridesmaids at her wedding, and she says she needed every last one of them for the big day.
“I have so many women in my life who mean so much to me,” Carter told Inside Edition.
Carter, who worked as a singer and entertainer most of her life, explained that she’s lived in several cities and states, including Atlanta, New Orleans and Nashville.
She said aside from her six biological sisters, she met these women at various points in her life, including school and work.
“There are so many women I have met on the journey,” she said. “Why not let them be part of my life?”
Carter said she met now-husband Gary Carter at Thanksgiving, and he proposed shortly after while they were on a road trip together.
The happy couple planned the wedding in only three short months, which caused Casme to leave many other potential bridesmaids off the list.
“To be honest, it probably would have been more than 34,” she said. “It probably would have been 50 ladies.”
The pair got married in a beach ceremony at dawn and ended the day with a crawfish boil, barbecue, beach volleyball and other games.
“A lot of them know my journey and know how much of a love bug I am,” she said. “I wanted them to share this day with me.”
