A Louisiana woman tried her luck on playing the lottery for the first time ever, and it paid off.
Betty Cooley, from Lafayette, decided to buy a Powerball ticket to celebrate her birthday and chose the numbers based on her late husband’s birthday date.
It won her $100,000.
"I couldn't believe it!" Cooley said. "This was the first time I've ever played!"
She is already making plans for her winnings.
"I'm going to buy my son a vehicle... He really needs one!" she added.
