She received the ticket as a gift.
It was a birthday to remember for a Canadian grandmother who won the lottery.
Ethel Clarkson said she likes to keep it simple when it comes to gifts so when her granddaughter asked her what she wanted for her birthday she said a lottery ticket.
What she wasn’t expecting is for that ticket to be worth about $764,000 after taxes.
"It's so surreal," Clarkson said. "I jumped up and down, started screaming and crying as I was so excited -- but I didn't think it actually could be real.”
Clarkson said she plans on buying a new car and paying off her debt.
"It's a dream to be debt free and to be able to help my family," she said.
It’s a birthday wish come true.
