The rappers are both expected to release posthumous albums as well.
XXXTentacion and Lil Peep have released a posthumous song after the two died in unrelated incidents in the past year.
The song titled, “Falling Down” was co-written by iLoveMakonnen and co-produced by Mike WiLL Made-It. It was released Wednesday.
Last month, iLoveMakonnen shared a clip of the song, saying, “I posted a few weeks ago about how much it meant to me to know that this song I co-wrote with @lilpeep inspired @xxxtentacion to want to jump on and add some verses.”
Lil Peep, born Gustav Åhr, died in November of a drug overdose at the age of 21.
XXXTentaction, 20, whose real name was Janseh Onfroy, died in June after a robbery at a motorcycle dealership in Florida. Four men have been arrested in connection with the murder.
An entire album of Lil Peep’s unreleased music is expected in the months to come, according to Variety. A posthumous XXXTentacion album is also on the way.
