YouTube sensation Lilly Singh took to Twitter Sunday to come out as bisexual, posting an inspiring message of empowerment.
Singh, 30, wrote “Female, Coloured, Bisexual” with a check next to each word followed by the message, “Throughout my life these have proven to be obstacles from time to time. But now I’m fully embracing them as my superpowers.”
Singh, who is also a comedienne and actor and goes by the YouTube name “Superwoman,” received a slew of messages of support from her fans.
“We're proud of you, Lilly. Thank you speaking out for equality and inspiring so many others with that simple, powerful idea: all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights,” UNICEF wrote.
Social media personality Hannah Hart wrote, “I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!”
Writer Ashly Perez wrote, “WELCOME TO THE WORLD’S HOTTEST CLUB.”
Singh took to Twitter to thank everyone and send a social media “group hug” to everyone for their kind words.
Singh has 5.7 million Twitter followers and more than 14 million subscribers on YouTube, and has appeared in films such as “Bad Moms,” “Fahrenheit 451” and “Dr. Cabbie." She also was featured in Maroon 5 and Cardi B’s music video for “Girls Like You.”
