YouTuber Reportedly Films Himself Giving Toothpaste-Filled Oreos to Homeless Man, Gets Jail Sentence

A YouTuber has reportedly been sentenced to prison after filming himself filling Oreos with toothpaste and giving the cookies to a homeless man in Spain.

Kanghau Ren's YouTube name is ReSet and he has more than 1.4 million subscribers and over 118 million views between two channels. He was reportedly banned from the platform for five years following the controversial video, which has since been removed.

In clips saved from the video, 20-year-old Kanghau is seen scraping the cream out of Oreo cookies and replacing it with toothpaste. He is then seen walking down a street in Barcelona and approaching a man sitting down. After exchanging words, Kanghau hands the man some money and the cookies, which the man eats. Kanghau can be heard saying, “Maybe I’ve gone a bit far, but look at the positive side: this will help him clean his teeth. I think he hasn’t cleaned them since he became poor."

Kanghau earned over $2,000 in advertising on the video, The Independent reported. The video had reportedly been viewed thousands of times before being removed.

He was charged with a crime against moral integrity. He was sentenced to 15 months in prison, The New York Times Reported.

According to Newsweek, because he has no criminal record, he will not serve any time.

Kanghau must also pay over $22,000 to the man in compensation, the Times reported.

Kanghau has not directly addressed the incident, but he uploaded a video on Sunday. Below the video he wrote, "Do not believe everything the newspapers say, they are not completely false but they make up the words to make people look bad (in this case, me) and I have to upload a video explaining what happened."
