Armando is proving that pigeons don't deserve their bad rap.
This champion racing pigeon just sold for an astronomical $1.4 million.
Armando, of Belgium, was sold at auction for the highest price ever. The bird is said to be the greatest long-distance racing pigeon of all time.
Expert Vito Lorusso said he was initially shocked by the price, but added that the field is quite competitive.
"I was surprised the first time I read it, but pigeon racing is like horse racing," said Lorusso. "You got a pigeon that wins a lot of races, it goes for a lot of money."
Racing pigeons like Armando fly as fast as 110 mph. He will be used to breed more little ones to compete.
