71-Year-Old Miss Texas USA Competitor Makes History

A 71-year-old woman became the oldest competitor in Miss Texas USA history. Marissa Teijo's entry into the pageant was made possible because of recent changes that removed the age limit and the rule that all contestants must be single. For her, the best part of the pageant was seeing the reaction from women her age. "After the competition, a lot of the older ladies came up to me and they were thrilled," Teijo says.
