Archaeological Discovery Brings Together Harriet Tubman’s Family Members
May 16, 2021
A team led by archaeologist Dr. Julie Schablitsky recently made a discovery with significant implications for one family and for American history. They found the site of Harriet Tubman’s childhood home, in a remote swamp in Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The find was especially exciting to some of Tubman’s family members, who were kept apprised of the dig’s progress. Tubman relative Douglas Mitchell told Inside Edition Digital, “It certainly adds depth and dimension to our family story.”
