Army Ranger Medal of Honor Recipient Reacts to Taliban’s Rise in Afghanistan
Master Sergeant Leroy Petry received the Medal of Honor for saving two of his fellow Army Rangers in Afghanistan, and he says that the unfolding crisis in Afghanistan is painful to watch. The U.S. military is scheduled to withdraw from the country by the end of August, after nearly two decades of fighting and the deaths of over 2,000 American military personnel. A senior White House official says he believes the capital city of Kabul could fall into the Taliban’s hands within 30 to 90 days.
