Couple Upends Wedding Plans After Donor Heart Becomes Available
Kimberly Blosser and Tony Woods were about to tie the knot when the call of a lifetime upended their plans for a large wedding surrounded by lots of friends and family. But it was not a call they could ignore: it was an opportunity for Kimberly to undergo a life-saving heart transplant surgery. The 21-year-old from Indiana was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and told at 18 that she would need a heart transplant. So the couple hastily got married and drove off to the hospital.
