Connie Crispell was in the prime of her life when she was murdered in 1984, but as grisly as the crime was, it hardly gained attention. At the time, New York itself was dealing with a silent epidemic reaching fever pitch and threatening its already notorious clubs and patrons. It was that ignored epidemic -- AIDS-- that may have led to Connie’s murder. But not for the reasons you might think.
