Family Struggles After Losing It All to Toxic Train Disaster
July 6, 2024
Maura Todd and her family lost nearly everything after a freight train pulling tons of toxic chemicals flew off the tracks in their tiny town of East Palestine. They used to have a nice home in the Ohio hamlet. Now they live in a camper in Kentucky. The environmental catastrophe caused by that crash included leaking vinyl chloride, a known cause of cancer in humans. Massive chemical testing still continues. The Todds will never go back. "I have nightmares about that train," says Maura.
