New Expedition Hopes to Find Amelia Earhart's Plane
Archaeologist Richard Pettigrew is leading a new expedition to find out what happened to Amelia Earhart. The famed aviator, along with her navigator Fred Noonan, disappeared nearly 90 years ago. "Ever since then, that mystery has haunted people," Pettigrew told Inside Edition Digital. His expedition to find the remains of Earhart's aircraft will travel to Nikumaroro Island, a remote spot of land in the Pacific Ocean.
