Father and Son Sob as They Reunite After Being Separated at Border

Nearly a year after being taken away from his father, Jose Alvizures, 10-year-old Ervin is back in his arms. When Alvizures was deported last May, Ervin spent five months in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody before being taken in by an uncle in Arkansas. His father said they were seeking asylum in the U.S. because gangs in Guatemala had threatened to kill them. Now, father and son are finally together again thanks to a nonprofit.
