The presidential election is far behind us, but it's still having an impact on baby names. “We saw a drop in both Donald and Hillary on the charts,” says Lauren Kay, editor at The Bump. As it turns out, what's in the news can make a baby name in or out of fashion. The name ‘Katrina’ plummeted in popularity after the devastating hurricane in 2005 and has yet to recover. “It makes a lot of sense,” Kay added. “People don't want a negative connotation associated with their child.”
