How the Bag Murders and the Last Call Killer Amplified LGBTQ+ New Yorkers' Fears

In this “New York Gritty,'' Sal Bono tells the story of two crimes known as “The Bag Murders” and the “Last Call Killer,” cases that caused New York City’s LGBTQ+ community to live in fear. The victims of the crimes were gay men in New York but the cases were hardly acknowledged by the public at large or by, some say, even authorities. This is the story of a group of people who lived in fear and soldiered on to be who they are and how two murderers were eventually brought to justice.
