Kansas TikToker Dies at 21 of Rare Genetic Disease That Causes Skin to Blister
Marky Jaquez, a popular TikToker whose story inspired others, has died. He was 21. Jaquez died from Epidermolysis Bullosa, also known as butterfly skin disease, a genetic condition that caused his skin to be so fragile, it blistered easily. Doctors didn’t expect him to live beyond 14 years old. Marky’s mom started posting TikTok videos of her son about two years ago to raise awareness about butterfly skin disease and what it looked like. She had previously lost another son from it.
