Napoleon Bonaparte’s DNA-Certified Battlefield Hat Is Up for Auction in London
September 12, 2021
A two-cornered hat that once belonged to Napoleon Bonaparte is up for auction. Bonhams Auction House says that the current owner of the bicorne found several hairs in the hat, and that DNA testing showed they belonged to the legendary ruler. Born in Corsica, Napoleon became a powerful military leader who led French armies on a series of conquests in Europe and Africa. He made himself emperor of France in 1804.
