NYPD Is Training Police Officers How to Safely Arrest Protesters

A dramatic confrontation between Black Lives Matter protesters and New York City police officers ended with several people arrested on the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. The protesters were trying to prevent a pro-police group from marching across the bridge to City Hall. In the aftermath of George Floyd’s death, NYPD has released a new training video meant to keep officers from getting arrested, by training them on what techniques they cannot use to restrain suspects.
