Meet the 1st ‘Drag Laureate’ in the Country

As some local and state legislatures clamp down on drag performances, the City by the Bay is building them up. This week, San Francisco unveiled the nation’s first Drag Laureate. An ambassadorship of sorts, the Drag Laureate will represent and promote the city’s queer culture and community. Drag performer D’Arcy Drollinger will be the inaugural laureate. At a press conference, Drollinger said, “I'm so proud to live in a city that pioneered this program.”
