Sarah McBride Becomes 1st Openly Transgender Person to Hold State Senate Seat
One big moment coming out of the 2020 election is Sarah McBride becoming the first openly transgender state senator to be elected in the United States The 30-year-old will soon represent the first state senate district in Delaware. She joins a handful of other transgender politicians around the country but this election makes her the highest ranking transgender official in the country.
