Taco John's Surrenders Its Trademark for ‘Taco Tuesday’
Taco John’s is throwing in the towel. After fighting to keep ownership of the “Taco Tuesday” trademark and patent they had for 40 years, they will abandon it. The fast food chain’s CEO said in part, "Paying millions of dollars to lawyers to defend our mark just doesn't feel like the right thing to do.” They also called out competitors like Taco Bell to give back to a good cause.
