Virginia Governor Race Goes Republican in Upset Over Democrats
Virginia voters gave Republican newcomer Glenn Youngkin an upset victory over Democrat Terry McAuliffe, changing course for the state that voted for President Biden over Trump by a margin of 10 points. President Biden looked glum when he arrived back at the White House from the climate summit in Scotland, and spoke in generalities about the election when asked. In New Jersey, Democrat Governor Phil Murphy was expected to easily win the state, but he and Republican Jack Ciattarelli are neck and neck.
