17-Year-Old Fatally Hit by Vehicle After Escaping Detention Center

A 17-year-old boy who escaped a detention center was struck and killed by a vehicle while being pursued by police. The 22nd Judicial Circuit Court confirmed the teen escaped from the Missouri detention center on Sept 4. St. Louis Police Chief John Hayden said officers were pursuing the teen, who was in a car driven by a woman. The teen and driver reportedly jumped out of the car and ran. Authorities have not released the name of the 17-year-old.
