82-Year-Old Wally Funk Becomes Oldest Woman in Space Aboard Bezos’ Blue Origin

The world was temporarily relieved of its richest person on Tuesday as billionaire Jeff Bezos was launched into space along with three other civilian astronauts. The Amazon founder took the 10-minute flight with his brother Mark, an 18-year-old Dutch student, and 82-year-old Wally Funk, the oldest woman ever to fly into space. The launch site was on a patch of desert three hours outside El Paso, Texas, and broadcast around the world.
