Assistant Director on Set Yelled ‘Cold Gun’ Before Baldwin Shot Cinematographer

We’re learning more about the crew on the set of “Rust” when Alec Baldwin fatally shot director of photography Halyna Hutchins. 24-year-old Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was the armorer that day, in charge of weapons on set. Last month on a podcast, she voiced concerns about whether she was ready to be the head armorer on a Nicolas Cage western filmed last August. According to a search warrant, an assistant director yelled “cold gun” before handing the pistol to Baldwin, indicating it was not loaded.
