Ex-Teacher Tad Cummins, Who Ran Off With Student, Pleads Guilty

The Tennessee teacher, who triggered a nationwide manhunt when he ran away with his 15-year-old student, has pleaded guilty. Tad Cummins, 51, wept openly in federal court in Nashville. He admitted fostering a sexual relationship with a student before convincing her to flee with him. He faces at least 10 years in prison when he’s sentenced. Cummins’ estranged wife, Jill, who has since filed for divorce, was not in court.
