Harvey Weinstein Sentenced to 23 Years in Prison for Rape and Sexual Assault

The case that rocked the world and kicked the #MeToo movement into high gear in 2017 has seen some closure. Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein was sentenced Wednesday to 23 years in prison for rape and sexual assault. Upon hearing the news, the women who testified against him could be seen embracing joyfully as they got the justice they had long awaited. Weinstein was handcuffed to his wheelchair in the courthouse and directly transported to a correctional facility north of New York City.
