Hero Bus Driver Who Rushed Into Burning Building Named Honorary Fire Chief

Chanaye Brown started her route as a normal bus driver and ended it as a hero. Brown was driving her route through Milwaukee when she saw flames coming out of the window of an apartment building. She pulled her bus over and ran toward it, banging on the door and shouting, while a passenger called 911. Some residents fled, but Brown could hear kids still inside, so she ran into the burning building. For her bravery, she was named an honorary fire chief for the day by the Milwaukee Fire Department.
