Brace yourself for pain at the pumps. With an estimated 41 million Americans hitting the road over Memorial Day weekend, gas prices are going up. It is the perfect time for tips to take the sting out of gas prices, says Robert Sinclair of AAA. The national average for a gallon is $2.96. That's up 60 cents from a year ago. But in some metro areas, it's almost $5.00 for regular. “Driving around looking for cheap gas is not a way to save money,” Sinclair said.
