Invasive Chinese Mystery Snails Spreading at Rapid Rate
Chinese mystery snails are causing big problems in certain parts of North America. The invasive species, which first arrived in America back in the late 1800s, is now taking over lakes in Texas, Georgia, and even as far north as Ontario, where one million of the snails have been removed in the past three years. They are able to quicky multiply in many areas because the females give birth to as many as 100 fully formed snails each year.
