Maryland Mom Says Restaurant Denied Service Because Her Family's Black

Black Maryland mom Marcia Grant and her son went to Ouzo Bay restaurant in Baltimore’s popular Inner Harbor, but left feeling discriminated against. They were told they could not eat there because Grant’s 9-year-old son didn’t meet the dress code in his shorts and Air Jordan T-shirt. But Marcia pointed out a white child wearing a similar outfit who was dining and asked for an explanation as to why that boy was allowed when her son was not. The restaurant is now apologizing.
