Mastodon Jaw Unearthed in New York Backyard
December 28, 2024
A New York couple made an incredible prehistoric find 13,000 years old in their backyard while mowing the lawn: several fossils belonging to a mastodon. Now Dr. Robert Feranec, Director of Research & Collections and curator of Ice Age Animals at the New York State Museum, will preserve the findings so they can be shared with the world. "It gives us a snapshot of what the state was like," he told Inside Edition Digital.
