    Matt Newey Still Can’t Taste or Smell 3 Months After Getting COVID-19

    As thousands of patients recover from COVID-19, for some, one medical issue is still lingering. Matt Newey was Utah’s 78th recorded case of COVID-19. He was diagnosed in March, but after all this time, he still can’t taste or smell anything. To him, everything tastes like cardboard! Newey’s doctors told him there may have been some brain inflammation that may have put pressure on the part of the brain that processes smell and taste. As a result of his lost appetite, Matt has lost 20 pounds.
