Jack Bronchetti was skiing with his father when they found themselves stuck in a gondola with five other skiers. A computerized sensor detected a crack in one of the metal support beams and automatically shut the whole lift down. Five hours later, Bronchetti and the others were hooked up to ropes and lowered to the ground. However, it was not just them. In all, 174 skiers had to be rescued at the Winter Park resort in Colorado.
