Neighborhood Throws Huge Party for Turtle's 50th Birthday

It's been 50 years since Diane the Turtle entered Jim Tonner's life, and changed it forever. In 1968, he was a bedridden 12-year-old boy recovering from arthritis in his New Hampshire home. For one year, he could not walk. During that time, an anonymous family member slipped him a gift in a basket outside his bedroom window. Inside was a tiny pet turtle. Now Diane is celebrating a half-century of making people from all over the world smile.
