Bobcat With Rabies Attacks Man Sleeping in Hammock

A bobcat attacked a man sleeping in a hammock in the early morning hours. There were three adults leading a group of nine youth campers at the state park this weekend. One of the adults was in a hammock around 2 a.m. when the bobcat lashed out. None of the children taking part in the wilderness program were harmed. The adults killed the bobcat following the attack. Its remains were sent to a state lab, where the animal tested positive for rabies.
