There’s a lot of monkeying around happening in Dania Beach, Florida. Non-native monkeys have made the area home, and visitors get to enjoy these adorable local celebrities. They’ve lived in a preserve next to Fort Lauderdale's international airport since 1940. Usually, Florida wildlife officials kill invasive species to protect native animals, but they tolerate the vervet. And the Dania Beach Vervet Project is working hard to keep them safe.
