West Memphis 3 Lawyer on How Case Defined His Career
In his new book “A Harvest of Innocence,” Dan Stidham chronicles one of the most notorious criminal cases of the 20th century: The West Memphis 3. Stidham represented Jesse Misskelly, one of the three teens were falsely accused of killing three 8-year-old boys in West Memphis, Arkansas, in 1993. He tells Inside Edition Digital how the case captivated the country’s attention and celebrities like Eddie Vedder, Winona Ryder, and Natalie Maines all joined the fight to get the three men out of prison. In 2011 the West Memphis 3 were released, in an unusual plea deal. Stidham says while he is happy his client is out of prison he is upset on how the justice system failed.
