Woman Who Survived 2015 Acid Attack Remembers Feeling Like She Was ‘on Fire’

A New York woman came face-to-face with the man who threw acid in her face four years ago when he was sentenced to 17 years in prison Tuesday for the attack. In 2015, 62-year-old D. Alexandra Dyer had just left work around 5 p.m. and was walking down the street in Queens, New York. There was nobody else on the block except for one man sitting next to her parked car. “I thought, why did he throw water on me? And then I was on fire, I was totally on fire,” she told Inside Edition.
