19-Year-Old US Army Soldiers’ Remains Laid to Rest Almost 80 Years After WWII
Before newspapers declared "victory," and crowds celebrated in the streets, young people left their homes and risked their lives to bring peace to the world. Army Staff Sergeant Raymond Blanton and PFC John Sitarz, both 19, were both killed on German battlefields, and their remains were unidentified until now. Staff Sgt. Blanton will be buried in his hometown and PFC Sitarz will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery.
