33-Year-Old Mother Diagnosed With Lung Cancer Never Smoked Tobacco

Mandi Pike, a 33-year-old mother of three, was diagnosed with lung cancer, but she has never smoked. She went to the doctor after a persistent cough and was initially misdiagnosed. At first thinking it was pneumonia, a scan later revealed it was lung cancer. A recent study showed that 12% of people diagnosed with lung cancer never smoked. Actor Dustin Diamond, who played Screech on “Saved By the Bell,” died three weeks after being diagnosed with lung cancer, and was also a non-smoker.
