50 Portland Riot Cops Quit Squad After 1 Is Indicted for Assaulting Journalist
June 18, 2021
A Portland police officer captured on video pushing a woman to the ground with his baton, then shoving her again in the face, has been indicted on assault charges. All of his riot squad colleagues are resigning from the squad in protest of the charges. Officer Corey Budworth was defended by the police union, but the district attorney is holding his ground. The woman, photographer Terri Jacobs, says she was attacked despite carrying a press card. She already won a $50,000 civil settlement.
